n00b needs some help with subwoofer choices

I tried to find some kind of search option here but to no 'avail. I have a Sony xm-gtx1302 amp, and I blew a Sony xs-lb10s speaker buy hooking it up as a mono amp for the sub. What I would like to know or find out is, what would be a good sub to replace my other one? I dont know anything about ohms or anything really, but looking at the specs of my amp, it says: 800W max power, 340W x 1 RMS at 4 ohms, 130W x 2 RMS at 4 ohms, 400W x 2 max power at 2 ohms, 170W x 2 RMS at 2 ohms. I would prefer 1 nice 12-15 inch speaker over 2 of them since its going into an extended cab s-10 pickup. Louder is better for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif having 1 speaker working at 340w sounds like it'd be better than 2 working at 130w. But im kind of lost. If anyone could give out any suggestions, it'd be great. Thanks.

Max ratings mean nothing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

You have two decent options here.

1. A pair of subs that're rated for 150-ish watts rms (2 ohm svc or 4 ohm dvc)

2. A single subwoofer that's rated for 300 - 400 watts rms (4 ohm svc or 2 ohm dvc)

If you're interested in running a single sub, maybe think about the SSA Dcon or DC Audio Level 2.

It might be best to upgrade to a more powerful amplifier...
