My type R gone bad??

Well just got a whole new sound system, which includes:

1 10" type R

alpine pdx.1.1000

front speakers(image dynamics)

JL 300/2 amp

the first day of installation the fuse behind the capacitor when out causing my sub and amp to stop working. Went back in, and they replaced it with a gold plated 80-100amp fuse(cant remember exactly). Since the pdx isnt even set to its max, the type R should be able to handle whats its giving it no problem. So 4 days later(today) the same thing happens...

It was doing fine, and all of the sudden the sub stopped working, including the amp shut off. Then a minute later it turned back on and shut off again when i turned up the volume. The speakers and JL amp still work fine btw..

Do you guys think there is something wrong with the sub? Any advice would be great! Im trying to enjoy my newly acquired sound system, but its been hell so far lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

the 4 gauge kolossus kit from knu. and everything else was supplied by the shop i had it installed at

that sub is rated "R" - how did you expect it to act ?

jk man,

fiew things to check.

what is the final ohm value running to the amp?

is there a protect light on the amp coming on when it cutts out ?

is your ground wire properly grounded to the frame of your car?

are your battey terminals where the + wire to the amp securly tightened ?

tons of stuff to trouble shoot here.
