my truck is no more....

Wow. You've got to be kidding me.
Did you get to your house before the fire took off? No fire extinquisher?

nG
nope, I was about 6 miles from my house...in the middle of nowhere...at least thats where it "took off" and nope no fire extinquisher with me, I really regret not having one in my truck, even if its hot pink and has pokey dots. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

wow, that's crazy, spontaneous combustion, I've never heard of such a thing happening without some kind of general reason, in this instance it seems as some kind of fluke, it will forever make me think and look back to my setup to make sure everything is alright.

nothing was wrong with his setup. There was probably a short or something touched something else.

at least your ok, and now you can move on to a new car and setup and learn from this. I for one definitely plan on getting me one of those little fire extinguishers.

I was driving...it caught fire...the box wasnt coming out because its bolted into the cab...so I had no way of taking the box and or sub out, I didnt have a screwdriver neither, so I was screwed.

You had to have a knife in the truck somewhere.I would've ripped the f'ing soft parts out.

Shitty, but stuff happens.I'd look into possibly filing a lawsuit. . . . . I'm not sure if it can be done but it's worth looking into.

duno about that, since he was feeding it more than it's rated RMS was, and he was doing it daily. Plus other people have been giving it 4kw + like he stated. And I think he did the install himself so he doesnt have a authorized shop to back him up.

It would be impossible to rip all the soft parts out through the basket, especially when they are on fire. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I would have whipped my dick out and pissed on that shit

no ****ing way a sub is gonna take my car out with me watching

While reading all this all I could think of is my shirt would have gone off and onto the woofer.
