Store carried orion, diamond, ID, xtant, rockford, and some others.

I asked about what he thought about the JL 10W6V2 and knew I wanted SQL, and told me theryre NOTHING but bass and NO SQ.

then proceeded to show me a sub in his store that was "wayyy better".

What did you expect him to say? "Those are the best subs out there for what you want. Sure wish we sold them here so we could sell you a pair." ?? When you go into any retail outlet it is their job to sell what they have there. If he had simply said "we can't help you here" you would have thought that statement was just as lame and came here and posted about how slack they were. If you don't want someone to market their product to you stay out of their place of business.

Oh and by the way there are plenty of guys out there that share the opinion that ID and Diamond are Wayyy Better subs

i wish i lived there! all the shops around here live for JL. thats not all they carry, but its all they sell. Every system bought locally has something JL. i talked to them about how i was looking at RE, ID, and Adire, and not a single person in the store knew what i was talking about. i hate the local shops. and i know i really should support them, but i cant. they just try to sell JL and claim everything else is crap.

Instead of pretty much lying about the sq capabilities of the w6.. he couldve just said theyre good, but these are better.

yeah, but the stores in my area are farrr too biased to even give you a good review on a product. the last store was pretty much ALL diamond, and shot down anything else, with alittle ID thrown in there. (yes.. they are amazing brands, what I'm getting at is how they'll exaggerate beccause theyre a little overbiased.)

the IDMax is a pretty nice sub... i would probably rather have an IDMax than a W6

Shops around here aren't the greatest imo. One said Kicker sucks. Enough said.

Every time i go to a local shop, i come out irritated. They never seem to listen to what you want, only tell you what they "think" you want. I know its their job, but I would like to be able to audition speakers without someone in my ear the entire time telling me why it sucks, etc. I have ears, I can decide that on my own.

the problem is that they want to make the sale so quick that they end up driving that customer off their store.

Remember no sale no installation charge. So yes they are going to push harder to make a sell.........and yes most of them do not know their own product.

Thats business man. How else is he suppose to get you to buy his product? Like the shops down here tell me "Kicker sucks, now these Audiobahns are loud and reliable". What am I suppose to tell him? I just say "oh ok cool" but really I know he wants my money and he's trying to bs me to sell his product.

If you are looking for JL check out BLVD Customs in St. Pete. They are actually located in the same building as the Dupont Registry...
