My subs start fading when both are connected. Help?!

What you should do, is grab a battery (small AA battery will work) and touch the positive wires to the positive end and the negative wires to the negative end. They should both push out and hold that position til you disconnect it. If they are out of phase, one will go out and the other will go in. Simple to check and it will guarantee your phase.

Try to explain better how your subs are hooked up in your box and to your amp..... are your subs dual voice coils? Cause if there d4s you could maybe be wiring to 1 ohm with both subs (which your amp cant take) but with one sub hooked your fine

No problem! Let us know how it goes. It is just a good way to test because it is very easy to see if the subs are truly connected correctly. If both are correct, they will both just push out. If one is wrong, the wrong one will go in. If both are wrong, they will both go in.

If you haven't done this. do it....when your at the back of your sub box looking at the 2 different terminals, hook one set of + and - to one channel of the amp then the other set of + and - to the other channel... if it doesn't sound right then take JUST ONE of the channels out of the amp and put the - wire into the + on the amp and + wire into the- of the amp on just one side

The right thing to do, is to pull each subwoofer out of the enclosure, and get the brand, and MODEL # off the sub, and look it up on Google, or tell us the model # of the subs, and one of the guys here can look up the info on them, and get the proper wiring configuration for the amp being used.Sure it sounds like a PITA, but its the only way to make certain.Take the time and pull them..Takes like tens min per sub.One sub may not be the same ohm load as the other in the enclosure even..especially if you bought used.Take the time, and do that, or you will end up Frying your amp, and possibly your subs as well.Let us know what the brand of the subs are, and size/model# for sure,as well as the model of the amp.

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...
