I have had my JL w6s for almost 8 years now and they are still going strong and still putting up good numbers for how old they are....just been saving my money for when they blow to get new ones but they will never blow i think....just means the longer i wait the more money i save up...thus the better new subs i can get...looking for some DD's though...they seem to be the choice of competitors...maybe i will go with the 2512's...i just dont know if i should just sell my subs now while they still work fine and cash in for new subs....but prolly only get like 300 to 500 for them all...i dont know really what they go for...for each because not many people have w6s out there that are in good shape....none on ebay as well...maybe just 1 or 2 here and there.....i mean my amps are like from 1997...so they are going on 11 years soon....man you gotta love the old schools...i know i do...well just a little story for you all.

nice...I have an amp from the mid 90's that still works (kicker), and some old pioneer h/u but im not sure on the age (deh-11 is the model #), glad to see your equipment is holdin up!

Congrats on being able to sit with the same stuff for so long. I used to be able to do it but now that I am online all the time and see all the new shit coming out I end up trading/selling to buy new and never seem content hehe.

If youve been saving for near 8 years...you better get some nice *** subs lol.

Congrats on holding onto them for that long. I thought I was never going to get rid of my first sub, about 3 months later I had a whole new setup.

not just 1 sub....i have (3) JL w6v1s....bought them brand new in 2000....when my grandpa passed he gave me some money and he said "spend this money on something you enjoy" i was thinkin of blowin it all at the strip joint...but nah....just wanted to make my ride complete cause i love cars...seems like no car is complete without havin some sound to it.

Most of the quality old-school subs were made to last darn near forever //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Those are still good sounding subs today. If you enjoy the sound of the W6 then DD may not be your best choice.

yeah i have quite a bit saved up....wish i could have 4 DD9515's in a wall...dont we all...that has always been a dream to have 4 15's in a wall in my ride...some day

i was wondering why is it that we all love subs...i know i love subs because of the excursion...the air movement...all that power to a turn of a knob....yeah but all this old school stuff i have is fading out...no one seems attracted to it....when you got all them nice looking subs with new logos and what not....they just look and sound and pound harder than mine....i can remember when i started car audio back in 1995 when i was running 2 MTX thunder 5000's 2 12's that is...you cannot find those subs anywhere anymore...i think they were 500w max...250w rms...cannot remember if they were dual or single 4's...they must have had a good 1 inch of xmax to them

Quite simply... subs got WAY bigger, WAY heavier, and many of them have WAY more x-max and power handling than the olden days //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif This is thanks to relatively cheap high powered amps.
