My Sub Search Continues, Narrowed the list

All i need is some opinions on a sub that will be well suited for my truck. I have a single cab Chevy 1500, and space is limited. As of right now i have a 12" Memphis seeing about 300 watts. I can get approx 2 cubes behind the seat with a 6" mounting depth and an Audioque 1200. I read that the Sound Splinter Rl-i 10 would fit behind my seat but would 2 cubes ported be sufficient enough for 2 of them? I am wanting to get fairly loud, but i think two 8's may be they way to go....

Would Two Rl-i 8's be more applicable in my case? Does anyone have any Experience with them??

How about the DD 1508's?

I am still open to suggestions so if anyone has something in mind that will better suit my application, let me know.

Are those SSA's 8's gonna be out anytime soon anyone know?

The SSA 8 will be a while. The SoundSplinter RL-i 8 does not have a date yet so I am not sure how long it may be. Why not try the RL-i 10 sealed and see if you like the output.

Alright thx, I didn't even know the rl-i 8 wasn't even out yet....

Well so 2 Rl-i 10's sealed seeing about 1200 watts will be louder than 1 12 Memphis ported seeing 300 watts? Right now it hits pretty decent but i still want to go louder. O, anymore suggestions?

Definitely. I'm assuming you either have the M-Class or the PR, since you're only running 300w. the M-Class is nice, but a pair of RL-i 10s would definitley get louder. Much befier subs, more surface area, and 4 times the power. If you don't get louder with that, I don't see much hope. The memphis might come close, being ported, but I still think the Rl-i 10s will beat them.

The 8s just ran out because so many people bought them. I don't know if they're holding off and making a new version or if it's just taking a long time to build up a supply again. Denim might have more info on that. SSA hasn't had any for quite some time.

Why not wait for the new SI Mag to come out?

5.5" mounting depth, you have the perfect gross volume, and it's a 12" sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yea, I just finished reading the preview of it on SSA, and they said 1000 watts is pretty much max, if u absolutely have to give it 1200 look for a different sub. Well, I don't particularly care to give it all 1200, so it doesn't bother me. Thx for the info, but do you know when it might be released?

800 will be plenty for the new mag, especially ported. Plus it will lengthen the life of your amp.

That's a good thing... when he say "not power friendly" that just means it takes less power to get just as loud.

Just get the correct VC configuration such that you can run the amplifier at a higher impedance. Your substage will be loud with less power due to higher efficiency, and your electrical will not be under as much strain due to a higher impedance, which is always a good thing.
