My sony xplods sounded louder than my DC XL. NEED HELP!!!!!!

yea.. i dont know your knowledge of car audio, but when I 1st started, I didnt know how to tune for shit!!! lol.. hopefully it's as simple as tunning and not damaged equipment..

ok, maybe i dont no how, ill admit it lol. its not damaged. its all brand new, and nothing is blown. unless, rusty gave me a blown sub, and aq a blown amp lol

ok well then thats 1 think you can check off the trouble shoot check list.

Pioneer HU's sometimes have the subwoofer channel off. I believe you turn the deck off and press the function key and you can scroll through some settings and turn it on. Thats how my DEH5800MP is.

I say sub level needs to be adjusted. some HUs wont even send full voltage to your rcas without having the sub level turned up. or maybe your sonys were just super distorted and old box was tuned to mid 40s thus seeming louder from the audible distortion

check to see is the DEFEAT is on or off in your head unit

triple check your wire to make sure they are not twisted (sounds like they are out of phase )

are you using both voice coils (my buddy did that)

Turn off the HPF once, you might have the RCA's plugged into the wrong spot on your deck.

I would get a 9v battery and check the coils. Maybe there was a coil mess up at DC and the leads are reversed :dontknow:

Sounds like you have a problem, I dont know what it could be though, hope this helps.

Surprised it hasn't been said yet. But, make sure your RCA's are in the proper places on the amp. In the "inputs" not in the "outputs" Also, make sure that the AQ is not in slave mode (has a little switch on the side)

I have my money on the RCA's in the wrong spot. So many people do this. It's crazy.

doubt you would want to but you bring it to tampa I will check EVERY thing for free.. I like audio stuff and helping out.. Will check ohms gain rcas polarity h/u settings eq etc.. set it all properly and have you on your way in 30 minutes or so depending on whats what..

you would think right? yet, i have fixed this problem for people where the woofer still plays a very limited amount.
