My Setup, you opinions?

They are great deals, problem is they are taking $1200 off of a $12,999 TV. Their grand opening sale was pretty good, I almost walked out with a new Dolby Digital reciever and a center channel for a real good price.

Alright! This is all starting to make some sense! LoL, thanks guys! Few more questions? If I do get 2 amps will I need to get 2 amp kits? The guy at Best Buy told me an Amp kit and 1 additional set or RCA wires would be enough to wire my whole system with one amp. And do you guys think that the Infinity Subs will suffice for my type of music? Oh yea, I have a Lanzar VIBE231 2 ch 800W amp right now

do you guys think that will be enough for the Subs? That way I can get a different 2 ch amp for the componets. What brands would you recommend for components that are in the $150 range? Do you guys know any good component brands? I was thinking about Infinity (if I could get a good price on them) or CDT, I also found a set of Kicker component speakers for 115.00... but I don't want to spend too much, b/c I still want to get some 6 x9's.

You probably won't need two whole amp kits. You may be able to find a 2-amp amp kit, or I've seen some amp kits that already come with distrobution blocks. But basically all you'll need is a distrobution block for the power wire and as the guy said, another pair of RCA's. Other than that, just make sure that the amp kit you get has enough power and ground wire (length wise). The you can just splice into the REM wire from one amp and run it to the other (you should be fine running two amps from the REM without any relays....but be careful if you add any more equipment [like an EQ]).

Infinity makes great subs, and those perfects are pretty nice. I think they are a great choice.

It would do good enough for now. Power handling is box dependent, and the Perfects definitely don't need 350w each to sound good.

Forget the 6x9, or at most spend ~$40-50 on them. But, spend the majority of your money on the front speakers as they will have a much larger impact on the sound quality of your stereo. Rear fill isn't needed unless you have 5.1 surround sound or carry a lot of rear-seat passenger and it's a very large car.

One thing to be wary about CDT is that there seems to be as many people unhappy with them as their are who like them. CDT is hyped big time on this forum, go ahead and investigate other options and don't buy into the boner right yet.

Another option is the Alpine Type-R's. Retail on them is around $250, but you could wheel 'n deal with Ovation down to atleast $175 on them I'd imagine. I'd have to talk to Bill over there and see how low they could go. But, Ovation might have the Type R's on display for you to listen to (usually a safer route to hear something before you buy it).

Sqyeak9798, man! I sooo wish I could get those Alpines, but my door only fits a 6.5 component set up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif What do you guys think of the Infinity Kappa 60.5CS? http://www.millionbuy.com/inf605cs.html It shows that it's a 6.5 speaker set but on Etronics it shows that exact same speaker model as a component set. I think I will get it if you guys think that they will perform well? I also found a set of Polk Audio http://www.crutchfield.com/S-t1faYgECQlV/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=10&g=410&I=107DB6500&o=m&a=1&cc=01&avf=Y&search=

*sigh* I just want a good sounding set of components.. lol I'm not haveing any luck eh?

LoL, I guess an extra .25 wouldn't hurt anything eh? Do you guys think it would be hard to put it in? B/c Crutchfield's install guide says it will not fit my car. :|

Alrighty... here's the update. Still using the same headunit, got some nice sounding 6x9's that were $40.00. Then I'm gonna get those Alpine components, and 2 amps with 2 12" Infinity Kappa Perfects. My friend told me he would do the install for me so I think I'm pretty much set. What do you guys think? Do I get your seal of approval? :p hehe

The crutchfield guide only tells you what speakers come stock with the car, not what can fit. Worst case scenario is that you need to use a Dremel and create a little more clearance.......something that would take 15min and be completely hidden from view.

And yes, that sounds like a mighty fine system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sorry guys, but I just thought of another idea.... you know how you guys were telling me not to run a 4ch amp? What if I used a good 4 channel amp to push my 6x9s and components? Is that an absurd idea? Would it be even worth it, or should i just have a 2 ch amp push just the components?
