Just wanted to see what you guys though of my setup. Any opinions will be considered, thanks! By the way, I like to listen to Techno so I need something that is more SQ oriented, but I wouldn't mind a little SPL either. Wiring will be 4 guage.

Headunit

My headunit will be a Pioneer Priemer DEH-960MP. Here are the stats.

http://www.electronicscity.com/product_info.php?cPath=175_105&products_id=259

Subs

I think I have decided on two Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 12" Subs.

http://www.millionbuy.com/infperfect121.html

I think they will hold up well and will hit as accurately as I would like them too. I haven't seen too much bashing of Infinity but I am however worried about how much power I should push to them. I have read in multiple theads that I should not push any more than 350 watts max to them.

Amp

1) Lanzar VIBE431 High Power 4CH 1200W amp

http://www.millionbuy.com/lnzvibe431.html

2)Lanzar VIBE438 4Ch Mosfet Amp 1400W amp

http://www.millionbuy.com/lnzvibe438.html

I am only looking for an entry level Amp with enough power to push my subs, but I don't want to push too much power to them. I have heard the quailty of Lanzar and I do like their product, if you guys know of anything elese that would be close or better than Lanzar at around $150.00 let me know.

Speakers

1) Kicker

Kicker K69 6x9

http://www.millionbuy.com/kikk69.html

Kicker DX60 6.5"

http://www.millionbuy.com/kikdx60.html

OR

2) Kenwood

Kenwood KFC-6940ie 6x9

http://www.millionbuy.com/kenkfcm6940.html

Kenwood KFC-1689ie 6.5"

Sorry for being so long but I just wanted to make sure I covered most of the info. BTW I'm going to have a professional install everything b/c I don't have a clue on how to do it myself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Thanks for reading, hope to hear from ya!

ya bro i dont know THAT much about car audio but i think your gonna wanna get a seperate amp instead of runnin 6x9s and subs off of it. and as far as my knowledge goes id recomend the kickers just what ive heard on the streets in WA

Whoa...another Fort Wayner. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

Ever thought of simply eliminating your rear speakers altogether? Alot of people run their stereo without any rear stage at all. That's what I did, I'm only running a sub, and 6.5's up front.

Sounds great like that.

Do not get a 4 channel amp for your subs, you will be disappointed. Also I would not get Kicker nor Kenwood speakers. There are so many good companies! If you want the 6x9s and 6.5s. Get a component set of 6.5s (mb Quart, RE, Infinity, etc.) and I suggest Infinity 6x9s, the reference series even sounds good when powered right. I had an Alpine V12 amp powering my speakers, and wow! I have an excellent rear stage because I like the surround sound effect, and my passengers in back would not be able to hear the highs from up front when my subs were bumping.

Head Unit is real nice, the amps are not very good. You could get something from power akoustic and profile that would work better. Definitely go for a set of component speaks powered by an amp. The LT1440/2 might suit you from power acoustik or the Ap200 from profile for your subs. They are both decent entry level amps in your price range. (got prices from http://www.thezeb.com)

Thanks for the replys! Heard some component spearkers today, and they sounded awesome! The guy that was there recommended that if I do go with a components in front and coaxial in the rears. Neost63, so I should get 2 amps then? Would that be harder to wire? The installer told me it would be easier to install a 4 channel amp versus using 2 separate amps, is that right? What is really the difference between a 2 channel and 4 channel anyways? Sorry for the questions, I'm really new to this sound sytem field. :\

****......we Fort Wayne (and surrounding area) guys need to hold a get together.

Anyways, was this at a shop?? If so, which one?? Classic or Ovation maybe?

sorry but here's the newbie question... should I get 2 separate amps then? One for my Subs and then one for my components?
Two separate amps is a better option. Gives you more flexibility in choosing amps to match the power you need.

And what about that little speaker thingy that goes with the component setup? Does that have to be mounted somewhere else?
Those be the crossovers. You can mount them anywhere.

It was a guy at Best Buy.. hehe I know. But Classic stereo will be doing the install, Ovation is really nice too, but they are like another Lehman's. LoL, squeak9798 you quoted me when I was changing my post, oh well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And that would be koo if we got together sometime. Do you guys run by Hires on Coldwater at all? LoL, I know it's the rice meet but it would be fun to talk and see what you guys are running, and to see how yours systems sound.

You should really consider installing it yourself. You'll learn alot in the process, plus IF something were to go wrong with the stereo, or how it sounds, it'll be able to narrow down what could be wrong because you'll remember how you wired it.

Hehe.....well, than I'll touch on these for you also //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yes, two amps would be "harder" two wire. Not really harder though, just a little more "in depth". The only differences would be needing a distrobution block for the power wire, running two grounds and two Remotes. It's not hard at all, you just need to due the work twice (because of there being two amps). So yes, wiring a 4-channel would be a wee bit easier.

The difference; with two amps you can choose amps that give you the power you need, instead of being "stuck" with the power a 4-channel gives you. The problem with a 4-channel is that it may give you the power you need for the components, but not enough for the sub (or vise versa). With two amps, you an choose the amps that have the power you need. And, if you ever wanted to upgrade amps, if you had two amps you could just replace one. Whereas if you only had a single amp you would have to either find a new amp that still powers everything or buy two new amps. So, basically upgradeability (if that's a word) is easier. But, the downside is the slightly more complicated wiring.

Also, obviously, with two amps they'll take up more room and you'll need to mount two amps instead of one. Not that big of a deal unless you have a small trunk or own a truck. Then sometimes it's harder to fit the two amps in there.

But like Aurora said, you should install it yourself. There are enough of us Ft. Wayne guys around here that I'm sure you could find one of us that would help you out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And you're right, Ovation is another Lehmans.....LOL. Basically all the employees just went to Ovations after Lehmans closed down. But, I have a buddy (more of a good acquaintance) that worked for Lehman's and now works for Ovation, so I may be able to get you some good deals over there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have my hookup at Ovation like I did at Lehmans. But much like Lehmans, Ovation is WAAAAY overpriced for what they sell. Lucky for them they have been having "blow-out" sales every weekend.
