Here we go again ... Wood glue is meant for wood for a reason: chemical bonds are always stronger than physical ones.

Yea Titebond. It forms a chemical bond between the 2 joints. Using anyhing else, its the glue/sealer itself holding the peices together, you are relying on that only.
