My Raamat Experience

goo gone gets the butyl off ur hands pretty good

i tried using gloves at first but it kept stickin to em so i said froget it

more pics,

sorry didnt take pics of my trunk but i did all that too

and found a new good way to get the butyl off your hands, (tried using gloves again but no good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif ) get some spray adhesive, spray a little on your hands let it dry and rub away, it forms little balls that taks off all the butyl.

residue as in oil residue?
i removed all that gunk peel and seal left on the doors of my accord with goo gone(sp?) and applied the bxt. all i can say is that the deadener adheres to my door really well and it's been through a hot *** summer. just giving you my side of goo gone but i didnt know about the stuff left behind.
Never hurts to run over the surface with some denatured alcohol after using anything with mineral spirits or similar solvents. If the surface isn't oily to the touch, you aren't going to have any problems.

also i have some road noise from my back tires

how can i take away noise from that?

does ensolite help? i have extra of that and ill put it on the back of the panels

Have you treated the rear shock towers and wheel wells?

dunno anything bout that? could you explain or post a link bout it
This shows the rear upper shock mount on the left and the wheel well on the right.

This area can be a problem for wheel and tire noise being transmitted into the vehicle. These photos are all in progress shots just to show location. You want to get a good application of both vibration damper and closed cell foam on the wheel wells and around the shock mounts.

Here's how BMW deals with the shock mounts:

Nice heavy enclosure. I'm in the process of building something similar for my Honda.

i really like that struct cover idea, i think thats where most of the road noise is coming from, i gotta ask a friend to hear it out when i drive on the highway.

how are you planning to make that cover?

Haven't completely decided. Some sort of composite of mat, foam, probably some acoustic fiberglass blanket I have and maybe lead sheeting. Needs to be removable. I'd like to get it done in the next week or two.

fiberglass sounds like a good idea ... i got 60sq ft of 14oz cloth

sound deaden on inside and outsite of the mold with enosilte over the deadening

does ensolite help alot? im thinkin bout ordering more and puting 2 layers over everything.

Makes a HUGE difference, unless you are going for pure SPL. If you are looking to stop noise and improve SQ, do it.
