i've owned three new 4x4's....all three have spent long hours off road in the mud, woods, and when we get enough, snow. if ur going to buy it and not use it for it's intended purpose, buy something else..lol..of course this is just my opinion and nothing else, but street queens are just ghey.

i've also owned several older 4x4's, they got the same treatment. from an 86 chevy lifted 16" and sporting 40" gumbo's to an 84 ranger (yep, i've owned ford) lifted 9" sporting 33's....all have seen their fair share of abuse..lol...and i've spent my fair share of time repairing, cleaning and tuning just to go again...

and ford's are indeed ok trucks. i just like giving ford guys grief....yep, i'm a chevy fan.

my dream truck?

2002 chevy HD (xcab short bed of course) with a banks six gunned duramax and beefed up alllison ******..with a transplanted AAM 9.5" solid axle up front(ARB'd) and a AAM 11.5" (basicly the factory rear, with a detroit) in the back on sitting under about 8" of lift, manual hubs and 35-36" nitto mud grabblers. buck stop bumpers front and rear, 12k# winch in the front and back.....that'll get me into a shitload of fun, and back out again!

well when you invest your money in a brand new truck, (off the lot), then the next day drop it off for 12k worth of suspension work then dump a shit load of money into other things, you wont drive it through a mud pit the next day. i bought my truck in february, my other truck took my almost two years to get it off road.

12k for the suspension mods in ur sig??? i can copy that for around 5.5k.....where is the other 6.5? that's besides the point...

(i would never, ever crank the torsion bars..too many alignment issues can arise, not to mention how harsh the ride will get), it would never,ever be clean...

u would cry if u saw inside my bed...lol...and back side of my cab...

in the end, it's just a truck, and i will forever treat my truck as a truck, regardless of price...

but, that's just me...

obviously you dont know the retail end of truck parts. bilstein, weld, custom bars, drivelines, front and rear end, lockers, and all the rest of the shit i cant even think of, that shit dont come cheap, or i just dont use cheap shit. i use my truck all the time for throwing shit in the back. i use it as a truck and take the best care that i can of it. i dont mind scratches or dents in the bed from using it. outside the truck though, thats a different story. i wont intentionally thrash a truck though. someone that would thrash a brand new truck, imo, is a ****ing idiot.

7" superlift for an 05 silverado ....$2002 including front driveshft for autotrac and and optional skid plat and kicker braces....

bilstein shocks, assuming u got dual's up front.....if they are 7100's..$1140, if they are 5100's...$480..

so that totals $3142 for suspension and u have 6 7100 series bilsteins...or

you have $2482 tied up assuming 6 5100 series shocks....

35" bfg mud terrains...$916 for four of them...

weld evo velociti 17x10...$2012 for four of them...

add in $125 for the weld tire and wheel package.....(includes lugs, mounted and balanced)

i'm at $6227.15 before shipping from national wheel and tire...(ok, it's not the 5500 i said..lol..those 7100 shocks are killing me..and those weld wheels)

i'm at $6695.47 including shipping to my house(with the 7100 bilsteins, only $6035 if ur running 5100's...and cheaper yet if ur only running 4 shocks). add in another 1.2k for your exhaust ,programmer and k&n.....and i'm at $7895.47...

and that's just going to NTWOnline.com...not price matching or anything...and i threw in a few extra things that i'm not sure you have...

even with a 4.10 rear end in it, you are still going to lose bottom end power due to gearing because of the tires. i was jsut stating that after driving a cobra, that it feels like a dog, in which it does. oh, and you forgot nerf bars, lockers, programmer, and the rest of the stuff that is done at a truck shop. door handles, a little chroming here and there, differential cover, grille, etc.. the list goes on. the truck will be plenty ready for the wilderness when i grow enough balls to take a brand new truck and trash it. until then, i pay my own bills and i cant afford to trash something like this, of mine. so all you guys whos daddies pay for shit, stfu until you understand paying for your own shit, and stuff you break.

If you saying that since its a truck it should be used as one...then what about all sports cars? Are you saying that if you buy a vette,astin martin, or whatever, and you dont drive it immediatly like it was in the indy 500, that its a waste of money?

i dind't say 4.10's wouldn't be affected ...but in ur previous post u made a statement that would lead one to assume that you had lockers and front and rear end work done, which would mean a gear swap.
