My new (old) toys

Well, just picked up some new toys for $100 off Craigslist. **** good deal if I say so myself, considering i've seen the amp sell for what I paid for the lot. All work 100%//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

How I picked them up:



Sexay looking R's out of the box. I like these baskets a LOT more than the newer version. What's the opinion on these older models? 10", d4 coils



Old RF Punch XLC 10, 4 ohm woofer. Dated from September 1998.



The three subs lined up:



And the crown jewel. A Zapco AG 350. This thing is SEXY. Forgot to snap a pic of the internals, but looks just like on ampguts. Only flaws on this amp are where the PO scratched the paint off above the terminals with a screwdriver. You can see in the first pic an R in sharpie for some reason. It's still there very faintly, but I cleaned this thing, and it shines real nice.



The Bottom. Serial number 003658:



And what i'm assuming is the bench test ratings on the inside of the cover. Can anyone decipher these? All are either hand written or stamped, no computer printing on this beaut.



Got a pretty good deal if I say so myself. Don't have a use for any of it right now, but if I need to, I could easily sell the Arghss for $100 locally.

Nice buy.

Brake cleaner removes 'permanent' marker instantly. Be careful it doesn't eat the paint tho.

Thanks, I thought about brake cleaner. I'm afraid it'll eat away the good paint, though. I used a diluted bleach bottle, and lit sit, but where it was sitting is a slightly brighter white, so I'm going to leave it before I do anything that really detracts from the appearance. I would re-paint it, but have no way to re-do the wording above the terminals and knobs.

I came up? Gotta love when people don't know what they have, or don't know what it's worth, and think it's junk. Had a couple good buys off craigs recently

They are pretty decent speakers...they dont get low, but they will get loud with the right amount of power. I had 2 of the same subs in a 2.5 cube ported box tuned to 32 hz with around 425 going to each and it got loud. Here are some vids that i made before i swapped to a single SE10 setup.

Really? Good to know, rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) wont harm paint at all. Very mild stuff.

Thanks, i've tried rubbing alcohol in the past and only had so-so results getting off sharpie, but i'll try it tomorrow and post up if it works.

Mustang- thanks for the info. I don't plan on running them, i'm content with my L7 till it blows or I get a new car, but I was curious to opinions. I'm glad to hear they aren't crap. If I were to use them, definetely a large ported box with 1k watts on the pair, no less I'd watch the vids, but my comp can't play them. Shitty video card or something. Thanks for the links, though, i'll try to check them out on a different computer.

No luck with the rubbing alcohol. I think the sharpie has been on there so long it actually started to soak into the paint somehow.
