my nav got stolen,

it was on their property. it was their responsibility. they didn't ensure to keep the shop secure enough. they should be responsible. i'd fight it and fight it til it got overturned.
out here in cali no matter what stupid signs are up their still responsibel even seen it on a judge mathis (i think that show) but some lady sued a shop that had those signs up and she won every last penny of what it was worth used the audio. i worked at 2 mechanic shops before both had signs and that was only for the idiots who belived it. the shops would get sued at least every other month and the customer would always win if they had proof of it bieng inside the car. at one shop they even had a sign not responsible theft fire and so on and one car caught on fire out of nowhere and the shop was responsible. they had to pay the owner 5 grand for an old *** caddy cause he had allready gave them close to 3 grand in repairs and gat that money back and the car value.

funny how alot of people spend more on their cars then what their worth but alot of us do it.

so depending on your laws where you live, yes you can file a small claim and most likely will win if you have pictures and some sort of receipts.

I would also look at any paper work that you may have signed. There is most likely some type of "Not responsible for..." clause on there.

Insurance? Everyone I know that's had stuff jack while thier car was at the mechanics had their junk replaced under insurace. That's what it's for.

So out of all the cars in the shop, assuming there are more cars, the theives happend to steal stuff out of your car and not anybody elses. The theives take the time to break in the shop and not steal anything from the shop (tools, etc.)

It seems to me that the shop stole your stuff. If there was stuff stolen out of other customers cars, then you could assume it was a third party intruder and less chance it being the shop.

no the guy was a great he offered to replace everything that was stolen and fix what ever damage the theives done...

but im sick of my kenwood and really want an alpine instead, any suggestions?

our family owns a garage and we smog cars in it. we have a sign that says "we are not responsible for any thefts that may occur while your vehicle is left here." it's to protect our ***** from getting sued in case someone wants to fraudulently have their car stolen at our shop... or any other bullshit scenarios.. our "garage" really isnt a garage though, its basically a giant roof and the property is protected by 6-foot fences all around. if you leave your car here you'd better think about how easy it is for ppl to hop that fence and burglarize your car while our shop is closed! in other words, you'd be an idiot to leave your valuables in your car if you left your car at OUR shop. ok just wanted to give u guys something to think about.. not all auto shops that have that sign are crooked with cruel intentions..

I would think that a shop would be responsible if it was in their shop. Why wouldnt the shops insurance take care of it. I would sue before I used my own insurance, that would just make you insurance go up. No the Alpine wont work with the kenwood nav they make it that way for a reason
