We have another shop, 30 miles away that sales RF, Kicker, JL, Clarion, and Alpine.

They are "elitist" and do good work but are flat out a$$holes and will not budge on pricing..........

I'm surrounded by idiots.

If they are that good then they have no reason to flex on pricing. I don't see that as being an *******.

Dont feel too bad, there isnt much better in Louisville. Only people I give any props to is Smart Shoppers, and thats mainly because they have a ton of stuff besides car audio such as painting supplies and rims.

Ive actually been doing installs for the local army guys who cant stand to go to the "prefab" audio shops around town. Ive been making a killing just doing side jobs on my own terms and time. There are definately still places that you can make some cash if you have a shop thats decent.

I was doing an install for my brother and needed a run of 0 gauge, guy laughed and said it was a waist of money, he was running 2500 watts of 4 gauge and thats all I needed......................

Of course every guy on here will laugh at the audio shop owners... but do you think that we are the world? We are a very small percentage of the audio lovers out there, the other percent is all they need....

There is one main place to go to in town and I will never step foot in there again, I walked in cash in hand about 2 years back and wanted a box built for a single DD, as soon as they heard DD one of the guys just started trash talking DD and how Treo was so much better and the guy that used to design DD is now designing Treo's and they are so much more advanced...

I asked him WTF it would take for him to shut the **** up and just price me on a box and not to hear his bullshit, then the owner walked over and through a price at me just to stop the tension and I pulled out my money and told him he isnt getting any bit of that shit b/c of how I was treated...

Of course it didnt bother him, he knew the next person that walked through the door would buy his shit, but when I saw him at the bank and parked next to him in his "demo truck" and when he walked outside I set his alarm off and he looked at me in amazement for that split second and saw the DD stickers, it was priceless... I hate the prick, that is why I drive an hour away if I ever need anything, to a small town, small business, good ole country boy that treats you right..

Planning stages, but it is not easy to deal with large companies for such a small business. I keep getting the run around from Alpine, Clarion, and Pioneer and Eclipse wouldn't even talk to me....................

I feel your pain man. We got a shop ou here called High Volume and they are about as good as those fegs...... oh well you gotta make a living some how

man, don't hate on this guy's shop for getting money. He not thinking about you, he's thinking about feeding his family and paying his bills. So they sell crap, you know what? most people don't need anything better for their system. Nothing worse than an idiot destroying nice equipment. the internet consumer makes up about 8-16% of the buying population in car audio and since most of what they buy is used, shops really don't care about us. I wouldn't either. Everytime you get a deal, they lose money. That's money needed to pay their bills. If you were in the same position, you'd look out for self too. Why would he go broke trying to make everyone happy? that's just ludicrous.
