My IDmax, new box, and now looking for a new amp

Anybody know if 500w at 2ohm would be adequate for my d4 idmax in a new 2.5cuft. @ 28 hz (didn't use it yet). Was driving it with a hifonics bxi1905d but somehow blew all the output transistors and some capacitors. I can pick up a xa1000 for cheap and it matches my xa4000 which is an awesome amp. If not, what cheap good amp would you recommend? Only reason I am not going further than 5-750w is because my electrical system.

whats your price range for the amp? 500rms is kinda low for those subs but it will still be pounding. You could easily get by with 1000 rms with a stock electrical and the BIG 3.

500rms would be fine. Especially in a ported enclosure. I have mine in a very small sealed enclosure with 250-300rms going to it. I love it.

I can get the xa1000 for $80 shipped. The most I wanted to spend was like $130. I maybe able to get a mrp-m650 for cheap but I'm not yet certain, that would give me a little more power. I don't think my olds will handle 1000w just for the sub especially already having the xa4000 for my comps. Using my bxi, the electrical dimmed pretty bad.
