My home car audio install

Why do people do this? You can buy a decent home sub/amp combo for ~$150. You know, about of third of the cost of a good car audio amp, sub and DC power supply......................and it will PLUG INTO THE WALL.

I have built boxes for some extra subs I had around the house to use in my theater room. Worked well, but to buy/build just for that is a waste I think. Why a prefab box?
I can see using any type of sub, as long as your impedance will work. But the rest is retarded.

I disagree with those that think it is a poor way to spend money. For under $1000 my buddy has a stable 2500wrms running to his 2 FI SSD 18s in his house. Try getting that kind of power from a home audio amp for the same money!

I use car audio amps in my house as well. I'm running 600wpc from a PPI a1200 to my speakers. No way could I afford that kind of power from a home audio amp!

Or you can buy a plate amp and run it to any car audio sub at the correct resistance like I do...it only cost me $150 as well, but iI get more power and better sound comparatively (M&K 275wrms amp, Boston G5 sub)
