my hdc315 finally installed ty pioneerpimp

i never thought it was possible, but it finally got done. yesterday me and dave (pioneer pimp on ca.com) worked from 11:30am- 9pm. lemme tell you i had a blast. it was freaking fun and amazing, first box i ever saw built, i learned a lot of things and overall had a lot of fun. He was nice as he didnt charge me any money to help me do this, i gave him some things, but well under what all his time was worth. Now i feel bad lol. but we got the box made using subwoofer tools and went to put it in my trunk and it barley fit. .5 more inches either way and there is no way that box was gonna fit. So it came to the end we put the box together when he jigsawed the top cutout out(turned out to be 13.75 inch cutout not what the site said) he drew 2 circles, started on the first, ended on the second lol so we had to cut one more top. When we went back to measure we only had enough mdf by i think 1 inch to make a new top, so we got lucky. Then to make a long story short, his parents came home took me out to dinner (lol) we got back installed and ran my 1/0. when it came time to play, i was so ****ing amazed at what this thing could do. On my way home after it got warmed up and loosend a little bit i was hella surprised. it was fking waangging. so i went to my gf and played late night tip and as soon as it hit she closed her ears and started screaming turn it off, so i felt like our work was complete. All in all i had an amazing time and want to thank dave, his family, and his gf for everything they did for me, they were all nice and really friendly. I will get vids up later, but for now here pics.

i also never thought it was even possible to get a 15 in my trunk with that required space and how the opening was, but dave made it and thanks again bro.

box tuned to 3.6 cu ft at 34 hz(and i do not regret tuning this low, i love it.)

sound ****ing amazing..honestly for 1 15 in a trunk sealed car on a stock alt and bat its amazing. my lights dim like crazy though.he did an awesome job. he didnt want to skip any corners no matter what. and a very very nice guy.

lemme remind u we used a circular saw to cut it out. the original piece that we cut the top for fit a little better but for the time we did it in and everything this box is freakin solid and amazing. i just showed my parents they were really impressed yet pissed since im deaf in one ear i would play something that loud. but i am building an amp rack soon so no worries on that.

to be i honest i could give a **** less on how it looks, i just care how it performs and it performs awesome. we checked for air leaks and liquid nailed the whole sides so it was ready to go. and for someone to build a box to fit in this and have it shipped to me would have been impossible.i think he did great work.

yea i showed him it was a little over cut, as i used a circular saw. he said he didnt mind. so i didnt end up cutting that bit off. amp is pretty secure and isnt moving that much. but he xan always put screws in to fix it. real nice guy and felt bad asking too many questions. haha. we did kinda rush on the box and the cosmetics coulda looked better. but he said he didnt care, and it was a free job. he bought me taco bell, and we bought him dinner, it all evened out. sub sounds real good. i was suprised for a trunk car. top baffle is a little overhung but can be sanded eventually. box still comes in and out with a little work.

and it was also about 6 degrees out, we did the best we could with the weather we had. 0 guage got ran in about 20 mins and completely hidden under carpet. i think it sounded real nice. the lows and the highs matched very well together. i dont regret tuning it to 34 either.

I have to admit the first thing I saw, even before my eyes went to the speaker, was that top right corner. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif Not only does it overhang one edge, it underhangs/misses the other edge abit. I think I would have redone that for fear its more than a cosmetic problem. But so long as you sealed the inside corners with caulk/silicone/whatever it should be fine. You guys did run a bead of sealant around every inside corner right?

Glad you enjoy it. Sounds like PioneerPimp is a nice guy.

sealed it with liquid nails on both sides so its good to go, and if i need to i will always add more. i just got a vid of this but photobucket sucks and my camera ran out of batteries. but i can tell you i get windshield flex and other stuff i never thought was possible.. i will get a hella better vid later
