my first ticket!!!

generally it only gets dismissed if you agree to go to go to driving school, pay the cost of the ticket + court costs, and stay out of trouble for 30 days. i sure hope the stuff where you assulted that guy cause u cant drive right doesnt come up in that 30 days. will definatly need to speak with whoever is representing the city regarding that. usually they will recomend a lower option to the judge.

if thats what it comes down to then i guess i'll have to go to the class, funny you mentioned the merge issue i was really worried about that showing up when the cop ran my plate, i'm sure he would have said/done something if he seen anything unusual so i guess im ok other than that I have a clean record both driving and criminal, not a single blemish.

every state is different, its totally not BS in TN though, everything is done differently here in TN.....

I understand that, but even still, moving violations are probably one of the biggest things for what cops look for. That is how they make there money for the most part. So if they do that in Tennessee and just let you go casue the cop didnt show up, I dont know how they make any money over there. I mean if the cops are like in Ohio where they never show that is. I wish my state was like that though, would have saved me a shit ton of money.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i WILL go to court
I am a very well spoken well mannored person, i also have a way of getting my self out of trouble just by saying the right things. Hopefully i can convince the judge that i honestly wasn't aware of the speed limit being 55
I would suggest you do not use that as your defense as I can almost promise you the response to any such attempt will be being calmly informed that ignorance of the legally posted limit is no defence at all.

Fines from speeding tickets are a huge source of revenue on your end of our fine state so don't be expecting any leniency just because it is your first offense. The only ticket I have ever fought and actually won ('cause I fight them all as a matter of course) was from when a DeSoto parish deputy wrote me for doing 81 in a 70 on the north end of I-49. The work truck I was driving at the time wasn't even capable of doing 80mph much less exceeding it. I got permission from my boss to take the truck in question with me on court date and calmly told both the judge and the deputy sheriff that wrote the ticket to begin with that if either of them were able to make that truck do the speed I was accused of driving that not only would I pay the ticket without question they could have the damn truck.

The judge walked outside and heard how raggedy the truck sounded when I started the motor and then turned to the deputy and asked why he was wasting taxpayer dollars writing invalid speeding fines.

I walked on that one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I got a ticket almost a year ago. The retard fucking cop said he clocked me going 60 in a 45, but wouldnt show me the radar gun //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif .. I wanted to fight it so bad, but everyone told me not to. They said just pay up bcuz the way the cops are with the judges, ill end up paying more bcuz they are muther****ers

First, you can always fight a ticket. If the radar gun hasn't been calibrated within the time frame that they're supposed to be, you're free. If the cop doesn't show up (at least in MI), you get off free.

Also, I'm not sure on this one, but I would assume that you cannot have 2 different speed limits on the same stretch of road (assuming it's a 2-way road). I would fight for that defense over the "it was just changed" argument, where ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law. Problem lies in the fact that you were going 7 over the higher speed limit, which is still speeding enough to get you a ticket.
