My first recone -> easy. Me >>>> Recones!

real nice job. didnt know that the motor is only held onto the basket by a few screws. but if you were to rate how hard it was to recone 1-10, 10 being the hardest, how would you rate it? and does it take a lot of knowledge?
A 3-4. If you can build a box, you should be able to do a recone. However, AQ's recone seems much easier than the other companies' recones. They have a plastic liner around the spider which makes it easy to line up/glue and they do not have any tensil leads to solder either. It's basically put your shims in, apply the glue, drop the recone in, apply the accelerator, and you're basically done. Then you just put the dustcap on and go over the landings with more glue.

I understand that. I have re-coned a sub before. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I was asking, even though you just let it sit...are the mounting holes to close to the surround? I know is going to puncture the landing part...but it should still be as far away as possible.
EDIT: after looking closer, it looks fine. I was just asking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I should have known that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The mounting holes are kind of lined up. There are 2 or 3 that don't completely sit under the landing, they are halfway exposed.
