When using a box with a common chamber you don't need as much air space for each sub. I've found that you're safe with 15-20% less per sub and still able to get the response you're wanting. If you have the space, then by all means go for something like 18ft^3...it'll be more efficient and require less power.

Dont think theyd sound tasty on rock/metal sealed up in a wall?? Or would ported and layed down in that huge box sound overall better??

I mostly listen to rock, rise against and that sort of thing.

I dont know what to expect with 8 12's. How it would feel, maybe in comparisn to the 2 15's I have right now...

Any ideas???

i know a few guys here in florida running them. both walled and get loud. 1 has 6 in a s10 walled hitting 147's on music and the other guy has 8 in a saturn hitting in the 150's

I had 2 in 4.4cu at 34 hz and they surprised a lot of people. And they sounded pretty good on rock.
