My ears hurt :D

Well as most of you know I had just installed my LI last week. It was in 3.7 @ 28Hz. It wanged nice and sounded unreally good BUT, I knew that the box wouldn't be loud enough to satisfy by bass head fevor so I also built a 2.5 @ 45Hz. OMG WOW!!!!! This thing is so loud now!!!! After sitting in it for about a min on a couple test tracks my ears were hurting so bad, I had to stop. There was a very noticible difference in loudness just by ear, let alone what i mic would tell. The air flow I now have out of the port is 2x if not 3x more then I had with the other box. My new box has 48^2in of port compared to 28^2 or so. My car also rattles even more worse then before. If anyone out there says that the tuning of a box has no effect on the output i dare you to come and sit in my car and let me swap out my boxes. I'm still blowen away at the output this new box has. Actully I didn't listen to it for that long. I did notice a little bit of loss in the SQ. The sub was also over powering my fronts so it was hard to tell. I will write more tomorrow after I have had a little more time to listen to them. The fact is plan and simple, it was so loud it was quite hard to tell. Like I said, I will reply with more info later tomorrow after school...

Ok, I had more time today to listen and was impressed by how much worse they DIDN'T sound. I mean ya there was a difference in the SQ of it but I figured it would be really bad, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. Like I said before, deffenitly hits much harder. Really happy with both boxes, the only problem is that they are a pain in the butt to swap. This box isn't as bad but that other one wieghts close to 80-100lbs probably. It also is a tighter fit in the trunk. So pretty much its this, even at 45Hz I was still able to maintain fair SQ which come to a total suprise to me...

I am using the 2000 USAC Outlaw SPL cd for most of my testing. I also use Linkin Park for testing with normal music, a mix of hip hop and some heavy metal for double kick drums and such.

Alot of people like slightly peaky sub installs. Wether it's cause that's what they're used to, the musical stylings, or just cause their opinion. Nothing wrong with you're tuning cause You're listening to it. LoL

How would you rate that A8000T? I was going to use it in my setup, but settled on a Hifonics BX1000D instead... I sold the A8000T to my friend who is gonna use it to power a nice Memphis sub, we'll see how it turns out..

I would rate it pretty good. This is my first install so I have nothign to compare it to. All the other installs my buddies had were of far smaller wattage and far lesser quality so it was my first dive into a "decent" amp. I have had no problems with it other then it does get a little warm but i guess that is to be expected, other then that, even though its bling it puts out the power...
