my dog got ran over :(

Yea. I would't have been mad at the guy b/c I know there was nothing he could do probably, but just stop and knock on someones door. hell. my neighbors knew it was my dog. Oh well. It's over now. I'm really not mad anymore today, I just want to concentrate on taking care of him. I went to bed last night at 1:00am, and got up this morning at 6:00am. Trying to be around him as much as possible so he knows i care for him, and doesn't get angry about being hurt.

And speaking of jaws. Trying to get his mouth open to feed him an antibiotic ain't working lol. I have to hide it in his food. strong jawed mofo. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

no true. We had a dane get killed by a car when i was a kid ;(
i mean hes so big. but it was somewhat a smart *** remark, if it wasnt obvious. Personally I wouldn't be mad at the driver unless they kept going, then I would find them and beat their *** for not TRYING to do anything about it. I guess thats just me though. I have never hit an animal other than a bird, and well....that was a bird.

Glad your dog is doing alright, and def keep him some good company as it DOES pay off n the outcome after this.

i love p[itbulls.. did he get run over or just hit? when i hear 'run over' i think the tires ran over him. like my buddy's mini pincher did.. its body snapped in half and it crawled around with is two front legs while its back legs were folding upward as if his heel were touching his head and was screaming for a good three minutes before she died.. she was the smartest dog i ever knew seriously //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif she died because she was across the street playing when she shouldntve been and my buddy came out and yeled at her and told her to come inside.. she ran to come inside immediately but unfortunatlely a car met ehr in the middle of the street at the most wrong time.

Really good looking dog btw. Whats the mix on that dog? It looks like it has a lot of pitt in it.
He's full blood Pit Bull.

he was just hit, not actually ran over.

You have to understand these are outside dogs. No chains. They run on 100 acers of farmland bordered on one side by a trucking route. No matter how well you train them, chances are they will eventually bite it. Grandad most rescently had a pair of coon dogs. They were each almost 2 years old, and had been on the farm their whole life. Think they would have learned? Nope. Eventually both of them ended up getting hit. Just a matter of time. We did have a retireiver named Brownie about 10 years back that made it to about 10 years, but he eventually got hit and killed himself.
BTW....Like to see you come down to Petersburg and make a comment like that. Don't be an *******.
No, i wouldn't expect the dog to learn, but i would expect a human being with even below average intelligence to realize what keeps happening and take some sort of precautionary measures to stop it. You fukking moron, you and your family aren't smart enough to be pet owners.

About pitbulls..Sorta off topic, but I must say they can be incredibaly unpredictable and dangerous dogs. My buddy has a brendal pit named Malico. Lean, and cut @75lbs.
Well anyway, Malico had these mut puppies. Pitbull jaws, but longer snouts, and taller and lanky. My buddy kept Malico and one of her mut puppies named Gracy, who is black and weighs about 45lbs.

To make a long story short, Gracy and Malico (daughter and mother) are jealous of Bill, and they can't be around each other at the same time. Other day I was up there and Malico was chained out back. When we went outside, Gracy got out of the house and ran around back where Malico was chained up. Didnt even hesitate for a second...This little 45lb mut pitbull ran straight up to her purebred mother and lunged right at her. They started getting into it pretty good. Eventually, Malico got the the best of her daughter, and chomped down on Gracy's jowls on the side of her face.

We had 3 grown men try to pull these dogs apart. Bill's dad, who is benches 350, cut as hell, pulling on Malico the 75lb pit, and Bill and I (who weigh about 200lbs each) pulling on 40lb Gracy.

After almost 5 minutes we still couldnt break Malico's grip. Finally, Bill's ripped dad starts wailing on Malico's head with his fists in desperation. Despite about a dozen close fisted blows to the forehead that would probably knock a MF human out cold, Malico still had a solid grip and remained unfazed. Finally, I took my foot and pinned both their faces to the ground. We literally had to "rip" them apart.

We took Gracy upstairs and washed off her mouth and jaws and threw some antibacterial oitment on her. She wasnt as bad as we had thought. JUst had her jowls stretched and punctured in a few places. She was shaky and dispondant for about an hour. Malico the pit (god love her), just tucked her tail between her legs and retreated to her doghouse.

The incident had all 3 of us shaken up for a few hours. 3 grown men (650LBS) could not tear apart a 40 and 70lb dog. Scares the hell out of me to think about a pit like Malico latching onto my arm, or worse yet, getting ahold of a little kid..

After what I have seen, I figure I'd be pretty shit out of luck if she ever latched onto me while I was by myself. Figure I'd have to try to choke her out or somthing. Else i'd be toast.

Generally speaking, Malico is a sweetheart, but in certain cercumstances I have noticed that a certain "Pit ferocity" will come out, that seperates her from the many other breeds of dog I've had experiences with throughout my life. For example, I would not trust a full grown pit bull around an infant or toddler. Just would not do it. No matter how well trained you have them, I do belive there are certain behavioral traits that differentiate them from other breeds. Pitts and Chows in my experience are the worst with this.
yea, all pits are bad because your idiotic buddy didn't know how to socialize his pets //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif You are a fukking moron.

And a dogs jowls rip easy.. the flesh would have torn out..

I forgot that a person endowed with such vast intellectual zeal such as yourself, is allowed to make sweeping generalizations regarding total strangers. I believe you called me a liar as well.

Of course, your an intellectual! I guess my brain was'nt functioning at the level needed to acurately describe the experience, despite expieriencing it first hand.

It's obvious to anyone your lacking in self confidence from your responses.

Grow up.

P.S. If you would like to meet in person, I would be more than happy to teach you.

i've never had a problem doing anything like that, my dogs knew i was the boss, and would let me open their mouth and place meds there if necessary.

first off, any educated pit owner would have a bite breaker(some sort of stick to wedge between the jaw and pry its mouth open) scuffles happen, 2nd, pits and other "bully" breeds are no more un predictable than any other dog, they just need proper training, and an inteligent owner that understands the mentality of a dog(pack mentality). obviously you and your family or friends involved in this situation are not able nor responsible enough to own such dogs.as far as having pits around children, never had a problem with it. a person is much more likly to be attacked by a lab or dalmation before a pit statisticly speaking. the problem is not the unpredictability of the dog, but the lack of responsiblity by the owner of said dog.
