Wo~I have just bought a wonderful DIY Grounded Grid Preamp from Analogmetric!! It is absolutely silent in background. The spacial feelings and level of human sound is definitely clear and it is really outstanding. When I first time see this item, the price was very cheap and I suspected its performance by its cheap price. However, I felt it is my best and most reasonable DIY preamp I bought before. Really worth to try, recommended to all.

do they ever explain what makes this a "grounded grid"? seems more of a buzzword, likely used given that "grounded grid" usually doesn't make any sense for audio applications. This makes it more arcane/obscure. A fast glance shows not a single grid is grounded.

otherwise it seems like a fairly classic design. a high gain mu-follower output, differential pair, and negative feedback. high gain + high feedback means low distortion and high bandwidth.

possibly. the unit isn't made for 12V DC use.
