my deck got jacked..... what to replace it with?

I have a 6800 pioneer no problems but i only had it for like 3-4 weeks i just HATE the ipod controls it takes forever to scrolls through anything, it cant keep up u have to wait, anyone know of a head unit with ipod connector that scroll how ever fast u scroll it? im thinking about selling it and getting thata clarion touchscreen or a alpine.

Ive never had problems with the pioneer rcas either.. As for the clarion, i personally hate that unit. We have a floor model touch screen clarion at the shop, never liked it.

but what u people think about excelon x990 ive never seen or used one so i need to know how good/bad they are

for how much?

i have the kenwood mp828, got it for 300$ a year ago, went in 2diff car, still works good, has some good options,

high-pass for front, rear

low-pass for sub

sub-level, -15 to +15

volume goes to 35... vol. offset can go up to -8

srs wow gives some pretty nice effects if u wanna tune a bit the sound to ur liking..

4-band eq for front speakers

4-band eq for rear speakers

u can turn off internal amp.

u can turn off the sub

...

reads mp3 fast enough

detachable faceplate

5volts pre-out

well thats the 828(2005)

x990 is newer and alot better...

it is the top end of kenwood, u definitly cant go wrong...

hope that helped...

btw, look into cd7000 also

i've used my 860 for 1.5 years now and the rca's still work. had to ground them but not really any problems. however if i was in the need of replacing my deck, i would probably look into alpine. perhaps the 9857

Meh.. the 9857 is good, but not as good as the higher end pioneers (780 880) imo.

I have to ask why?
Kenwood Exceleron over pioneer high end?
What, exactly, is a Kenwood Exceleron?

Dude, I have a kenwood excelon and I want to sell it. It is pretty much brand new. I am not trying to sell it to you I am warning you not to get them. Haha, no joke. I heard that they have smaller than average cd rollers or something like that. Well whatever it is really sucks. The HU doesn't skip on bumpy roads or anything but it will just randomly stop or start distorting the cd's like a radio channel frequency (no what I mean?). This HU replaced a pioneer and the pioneer ran perfect. Not saying go with pioneer cuz I am not a fan either but I'd stay away from kenwood excelon.
I'd have to say that's the first report I have seen about such a thing happening. Sorry that you had a bad experience but I would suggest that it isn't a common problem (at the very least it isn't one that's commonly reported and one I've not had on ANY of the eXcelon HUs I've owned including the one I am running currently)
