dosen't neccesarily get rid of all viruses. if you get a nasty bios virus ur just ****ed lol. but don't always resort to formatting, try tools like AVG free antivirus, adaware, and spy sweeper. you will be suprised at how much they help. you should be able to get them all at download.com

I put all my audio files on a disc, all the programs that I wanted to keep on another disk and reformatted. Works like new....Also downloaded firefox, spybot, and ad-ware

good choice on firefox. check out the extensions by going to tools - extensions.... get the ad plugin, i cant think of the name off the top of my head. but it's one of the best pop up blockers i've ever seen.

oh and btw, nothing is ever "deleted" or "erased" you can get it back, unless the segments have been rewritten, just so you know.

yes! that's it. GREAT application, you guys should definatly check it out. there are custom configured config files for it to, to help block more stuff. you can actually block advertisements on pages with it! it's amazing

Is there any way that I can put a password on a folder, or make it where only I can view the contents of the folder?

yea, i think in xp your right click the folder and go to properties and then theres security or something like that, if not, there are programs like winrar that i know can lock it for sure. or you could just make the folder hiddin and only accessed by manually typing the directory name.(as long as view hidden files is off)
