i walked into home depot today planning on picking up some little things maybe make a beer bong. anyways i was walking through the pvc asile(sp?) when i said fuk it im making a potatoe gun. the crazist thing about it is i found a worker at HOME DEPOT that actually wanted to help and knew what he was doing. anyways it has a 1/2 foot dia chamber and 3 in dia chamber. im using one of those ignition button off a bbq as a striker and Aqua Net 4 as propellent. SOOOOOO siiiiiick i shot a raquet ball from the mound to the backstop of a baseball field and it split into 2 when it went through. this weekend my dads friend is going to weld me up a metal one....propane propellant ahaha

it was a raquet ball stuffed in there with newspaper i was hopping for fire ball oyea 10 footer her name is lacy cuz its that white laced tubing. i did a test fill with water and an empty can 5 beers in the tube and 1 half in the funnel

That's what I was thinking. The best way is to make the barrell smaller than the dia. of a potato and sharpen the edges so that it cuts the potato down to a completely sealed fit.

I remember the good ole days of potato guns. I even made the barrell rifled and did the differential equations to find the ideal barrel lengths. Needless to say, it was unbelievably powerful and accurate.

shot the store...thats hardcore when i get the metal one im going to make a tripod for my truck...ill be sure to get a smaller barrel. im steill surprised that the there was a helpful home depot guy my friend works there andhe said most of the employees avoid customers

lets see heres the basic idea i got you need a chamber then a screw close thing for one end and an adapter from the size of the camber to the size of the barrell. then you get a striker and drill 2 holes and plug in the the two wires. spray propellant screw the back on and ignite...something i learned you dont need that much spray too much and it gets saturated and its hard to ignite

That is correct. Make sure you also account for temperature and humidity when spraying...it makes a huge difference.
