i was running my lanzar 4000 with some fans were the amp cover was. the mosfet transistors caught fire and started smoking. i pulled over and opend my trunk and the transister fell of and caught the carpet on fire

you can feel thankful that you saved the car at least. this summer i was at a stoplight and a blazer caught fire. all the people with liquid tried to put it out. by the time i got my extinguisher out of the bed of the truck it was too late. i may have got it but i hopped out to find the bed cap locked. i went back, got the key, but i was too late. poor guy lost his whole truck. looked like a 2000 or up blazer. still sucks though. sorry to hear.

How did a mosfet fall outside of the amp case? Did the case melt?
