My box meters the same forwards and backwards, why?

I went to a Meca comp and had my car metered. I have a 99 camery. The subs used to face the tail lights and now they face into the car. With the 6x9s installed it meters at 145.1 with them removed it meters at 145.5, with the box facing forward instead of toward the tail lights it meters at 145.5. With the back seat down the sound pressure is easily twice as much. Why does it meter exactly the same, weather it's forwards or backwards? I thought it'd meter higher with more sound pressure.

normally louder to rear.. removing rear deck speaker allow more bass into car.. either way u lucky as he*l i want to do smaller box but i want wider 1 so i can try firing forward even though i'm 90% sure forward won't work.. is your box as wide as back seats?, is port on side or on front like sub?

The box is as wide as the backseats, the port is I between the two subs firing forward. The box takes up my entire trunk

Yes, all 3 tests were done with the equipment in my sig.
thats 145 at the head rest correct? that's not terrible but Id definitely keep it facing inside and seal it off. head rest peaks much lower and can be hard to pressurize since your pretty much pressuring the entire cabin at that point. i prefer mecca because its WHAT YOU HEAR not on the dash.

i've heard cars do 160 dash and **** at the head rest. i'm doing about 2db down from you at the head rest with half the power so you aren't doing terrible.

these clowns think the dash is a measure of how loud it sounds. lol

I didn't think about that. The first meter was at the kick panel at Meca and the second I think was at the headrest. My amp clamps at around 3,200 watts. I'm going to upgrade to a coupl HCCA SPL 15s or ZV5s and see if I can get the box rebuilt because facing it forward makes a lot of bass in rock songs sound hollowed out. I also have a lot of power I don't use and it bumps me up a class I think.

Kick scores are generally much higher than headrest

If you re tune you could gain a good bit

I don't see anyway you are fitting two of those 15" hccas they like larger boxes
