My Avalanche 15" installed IB :)

i did a similar thing recently-had issues at higher volumes (leaking air) sound was unbeatable at lower to medium volumes tho, seriously thinking about sealing it all properly and takeing the sub outa da box!

Well I made the baffle a pres fit with the top/bottom of the trunk where the seat is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif -- the white stuff you see above is the foam... Covered holes on the side with clay/cardboard/layer of expanding foam... just have to fill in the rear deck holes... which I think is acting like ~ 1.5" long port of ~6" diameter... which is like a 35hz tuning… but it doesn’t sound like it is tuning the car a bit high... however it would be a lossy environment so... who knows -- I'll have to take some impedance measurements and see what is going on (and post them)...

I’ll post some more results after I’m done making these kicks for the car… almost there – pantyhose are fun! Anyone have any idea how many layers of fiberglass to use? I used 3 for the layer that is against the door and I have 3 applied on the front layer so far but I’m taking a break… I’m thinking 4 or 5? – It isn’t mat its some mid grade fabric…

if its really thin stuff, id do like 5 layers.

if its sorta thick (like 7oz?~10oz) id do three.

i did two (prolly like 12~15oz) for my doorpods and they are stiff as a mufaka.

looks sexy though. i would love to hear a real IB setup.

~10 oz -- didn't say but that’s what it looks like to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif -- stopped at 4 -- figured what would it hurt... only used 1/4 gallon of resin... going to be a pain to get it to sit flush with the doors -- any advice on how to attach them?

The IB setup sounds nice indeed -- need to see how well it integrates with the components which is this weekend's project (looks like it will extend into the week as well) -- Business comes first though... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

How is the output from IB installs? I would imagine that it would not be very much.
Louder than I need it -- that's all I care about -- I listen to my music at reasonable levels anywho...

Starting to come together, lookin good. How's the Avalanche?
Sounds very clean -- no overhang -- no slop -- loud enough for me... I'll get a LMT RLS when they come out and see which one I keep //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif haha... Make the other into a subwoofer for home //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If I had to buy a sub right now with current availability… it would be the new Dayton RS subs or the RLP subs – depending on what direction I wanted to go… 4x 12” Dayton RS HF subs would be sweet though! – or 2x 15” Soundsplinter RLP… granted the awesome price of the discounted Avalanche subs… I couldn’t pass that up now could I?

well it is wired p2p on the back side of some pretty pieces of 3 ply ~1/8?" thick plywood //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif -- Lead wires sticking out of the sides for input/output...
