which should have more output?

about even?

just a general question.. yes i know its all about install but im asking in general.

Not that simple. The bass reflex has enclosure efficiency on its side...

Would be very tough to say, most likely will be dependent on your cabin environment.

As per my 'Type R Testimony' thread... I can say the following is TRUE.

2 RF Punch HX2 on a MTX 801d wired at 1ohm (this amp is rated 800W RMS @ 2 Ohms, so not too sure what im lookin at at 1ohm)

The SINGLE Type R 12" in a 2.3cuft box (this is after sub, and port displacement) sounds probably...1.5 louder w/ an apparant 650W RMS going to it.

The TYPE-R Ported is simply amazing. Beleive me, I just installed on yesterday and still cant get over the fact that it sounds as good as it does. Im awestruck.

Its louder than my buddy's 15" Focal Utopia 38 WX sub, which is ported as well, and honestly it sounds even better I beleive.

Since the Type-R has rather limited linear displacement, sealed isn't the best option if output is your main concern.

They can wang ported, however.
