i have a memphis st1000d class d mono block amp the amp still turns on and plays music but after its played for a few songs nit starts drawing insane amounts of power. i took the amp apart and found some corrosion inside it looks like water got into the amp. my question is if i clean all the corrosion and whatnot off whats the chances this amp will start to work properly again?

If you know how and have the necessaries for cleaning electronic equipment, then I dont see a reason why you should not, also, it looks like you have no choice than to clean it.

I recommend on getting an amp repair Tech, to take a look at it and see whats needed, and give you a quote for necessary repairs..FYI,water and electrical equipment do not mix.Hope you get it looked at,would be quite beneficial

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.
