My 3 12' JBL P1224 POUNDING!!! {VIDEOS}

ya before i was the big jl audio fan and after i heard the jbl line and looked at the price i was pretty impressed their totally worth the buck

i ran the p1222 ported off a lanzar sl800d and it was nice.. jbl subs are all i will run great subs for the $

u can get some better subs for 180 each. How much did u pay for the system including installtion, if u dont mind sayin.
i pretty much got it at a good ass bargain. but i paid for the crown touring bpx 1100.1, custom box, and three subs all brand new for 1300 with tax and installation. I mean for that price i couldnt argue. i had a previous system so i had all the wiring kits and cables run already.

subs-150$ each

amp-600

box-150$

100 for installation

i did a lot of research and u cant get anything brand new for 1300 with warranty on items still. i know i can get used stuff on here for half that price but if it breaks im screwed and u end up payin more at the end.

Wow, seems steep imo for that. 1300 bucks, whew, and thats just your substage....Not to hate but dayum...Not sure on the specs or anything but maybe a properly built sealed enclosure would have done you better off. Those ports seem really tiny, I mean 4 2" ports is 12.56in squared of port area lol, haha. Thats not anywhere close to what even a single 12" woofer would need. I would consider re-doing the enclosure imo.

man if your happy with it and are happy with what you paid thats all that matters.. i think i paid 125 shipped for the one i had w/o warranty off ebay new like 1.5-2 yrs ago... wonder why ur installer didnt go w/ slot ports instead of those? and more than likely if that amp is like the older jbl amps its probably puttin out somewhere from 1200-1300 watts rms..

Well I would take it back to the installer and call him an idiot and tell him to redo his **** job! Not that its a **** job its just that he didnt accomodate nearly enough port area....

WTF is a kapkilla?

its pretty much another battery connected to my amp. i was driving around the other week and my system kept going off every hour. The system was on full blast. I inspected my system and i look under my hood and i see that my fuse of my system that connects to my battery was blown. my entire system ran on that kapkiller. Its equivilant to 100 caps as the specs say. it retails for about 150-200. Its a beautiful thing. Its 1/4 the size of a battery and ever since i put it in my lights stoped dimming and i noticed more gain in my amp.

well the problem is there is no room for anymore ports. if the holes get any bigger than the wood wont be able to support the subs. He warned me of this and told me the holes might be a lil too small so i told em to build me a sealed box and he did and personally i dont like how sealed sounds like so after listenin to it after a week i told him to build me the ported and it sounded and hit a lot better. Honestly its not that bad i mean if u listen to the system u cant tell. They hit very nice. my friend has three twelves, same ones, in his expedition with way bigger holes and even tho he has a suv they hit just as hard as mine and sound just as good.

Well if you didnt have enough room for a "PROPERLY" ported enclosure then you should have either

a) Went Sealed

or

b) Used only 2 subs, and "PROPERLY" ported them

Dont be ignorant, the facts are facts, and there is no way that the enclosure you have meets the requirments for the drivers.

Just trying to help, but if you dont want to listen thats fine. Not my setup:p:
