music playing but somethings still wrong

ok soo im doing an instal on my friends expedition

.. nothing big, some stuff he got for cheep from his uncle

anyways hes keeping the stock headunit

so i tapped into those wires to go back to the amp

i used the front left and right speakers

yesterday there was voltage comming from the wires i tapped and if i hooked up a speaker to the end where the amp would be there would be music

welll today everything works fine, like i havnt even touched his car, and theres nothign coming out of those wires

so i pull out the HU and test for ac voltage there.. nothing.. even thought theres still music comming out of the speakers

summary:

HU playing but no ac voltage reading

wtf?!

Maybe you're checking the wrong wires?

Your DMM is jacked up?

no i made sure it was the right wires(wireing diagrams.. and all fords are the same lol)

my DDM isnt ****ed up

It's not broken, stop trying to fix it.

So when you say there is music but no voltage....

Do you mean that the rear speakers still play, but the front speakers you tapped into have gone dead and don't read any voltage?

or...

Everything is still working as it should you're just confused why your meter isn't reading anything?
