My multimeter got left outside last night, may have got some dew on it I dunno. Spun the dial to turn it on today and it wouldnt power up, I pulled the back cover on it thinking the 9v batt might be dead, wasnt.
Pulled the whole thing apart after seeing how much a new multimeter equivalent was and found choas, looks like something shorted out. I just wanna know if I can fix it with simple parts and a solder gun.
1: wires going to 9 v batt, both appear burnt/shorted in that area
2:fuse has brown burn marks, possibly from #3 exploding?
3:appears to be a solid metal piece, exploded in the center
4:resistor lookin, discoloured, possibly from metal piece carnage above it?
To me it looks like that metal bar may have just burned up from the leads being put in the wrong hole, as it seems to connect the 10A and COM probe together... when it burned, it was touching the black/red wire and burned it to, aswell as the stuff around it.
Fixable??
