Tangled Up in Blue
I think it's getting close to a good time to replace the muffler and the pipe coming back from the cat. converter on the van, and there's no way I'm going to take it to a shop for something this straightforward. While I'm at it, I might as well get something that I know I'm not going to have to touch again...and get a nice little upgrade over the stock arrangement. Here's what I'm thinking.
Vehicle is a '94 Ford E-150 half ton cargo van. 4.9L I6 - same engine as the F-150's. I'd like a slightly deeper and lower exhaust note, nothing loud or too noticeable, but maybe something that has a little more grunt than the stock one did. Not looking to turn heads here. It's a single pipe, side exiting.
1. What brand/system would you guys recommend?
2. Related to question 1, what diameter pipe should I be looking at?
3. Any tips/tricks regarding installation? I'll probably have a friend helping me, but it doesn't change the fact that basic mechanics still isn't my forte //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
Thanks.
