MTX terminator dual 12" subwoofers vented box smelly voice coils?

it seems more like some idiots just like to either piss on their own legs and cause a ruckus for no good reason, or they truly are as stupid as they seem. such as the Rhodes scholar who thinks you cant clip an amp unless youre playing a sine wave.
I still trying to figure out who papermaker is.

I certainly wouldn't have a lot of confidence putting 1000 ish watts on those subs in that junk azz looking 5/8" enclosure. To each their own.
I think mtx sells those as a bass package with an amplifier included. I wonder why they sell their 500 watt rms monoblock amp with it? oh well who gives a s#%t op is happy and I don't have to listen to the damn things anyway. Rock on

Exactly. They're called entry level for a reason lol

I'm only running 240W RMS per subwoofer right now with the amp Im running. gain is somewhere around the 10 o'clock position for both subwoofers. so probably getting anywhere from 60 to 150 watts RMS at peak per subwoofer. I found thats the safest spot to run them without cooking the voice coils. they reach thermal limit before they reach mechanical limit. even in free air. if I run them too hard.

I think the subs are just not happy with a lot of power. possibly because the ported enclosure makes them not move as much as a sealed one since they have more excursion in a sealed enclosure. (I tested by stuffing the port with a small blanket) I guess i will just need to save up to get better subs and better box. whichever I can afford first. but for now these output plenty enough bass for me.

You can wire those subs up @8 ohms if they are both SVC4 ohm subs, and that amp will run fine after being tuned properly...
