MTX RT2400X amp shorting out/overheating

I have an MTX RT2400X Road Thunder amp which appears to have a short in it somewhere. I originally turned it on without hooking it up to any subs, within minutes, it was hot to the point it was burning my hand. i disconnected it from the power, and when i reconnected it, without even turning it on, it started to get hot. it seems like it gets very hot in the upper left hand corner. its actually my friends amp, who says he used to put wet snowboards on top of it - is water damage in an amp reversible? i took it apart and didnt notice any visible damage, but i am not a professional. let me know of any possible remedies
