I think that 60" woofer was powered by something close to a DC/AC inverter, it imploded the van that was installed in.

its very sad that people on craislist ask 200 bucks for 2 mtx subs worth 30 bucks because they let temselves go so much. back when i had the single mojo 15 my friend was like HOLY ****! is there like an mtx jackhammer back there?!?! i was like nah dude this cost 1/10th the price and is way better. lol

You know MTX gets bashed on quite abit but I'll be honest even the MITEK stuff is solid and their customer service is outstanding. They have helped me on so many levels of cool getting parts for the old MTX (Pre MITEK) amplifiers such as Mounting Feet, Term Screws and Gain knobs AT NO COST to me.

IIRC they had 60kw of power from crown pro audio amplifiers to power it... the magnet was an electromagnet and had to be powered separately...

I have an OLD MTX 25x2 amp that looks very similar to this sitting in an old, white, decaying box at home back in Cali - didn't think much of it. I got it when I was like 15-16 and didn't know much. I wonder what it can do...

Ive always liked MTX for entry stuff

The ol' 4000 black series was awesome. I could pick em up for like $50 and they would take 400rms for a few weeks

If you have the HO version it might...the US made MTX's were pretty nice

Its already been stated who designed and built it. IIRC, it was mainly suppose to be an advertising piece for MTX. It did in fact distort the structure of the van. My memory of it is a little sketchy, since the setup wasn't around very long due to the catastrophic failure of the vehicle.
