whats up with mtx amps why does the older model 6500d get so hot and shut off i had one and my girl fried it yesterday can somone recomend a great amp for a good price

the gain wasnt even up all the way it was like half way that amp would get hot quick and shut down but anyway im looking for a good 1000w to 2000w

get a 1500d, they are underrated from what i hear

All the mtx amps i know are underrated.

Get the 1500d it's a great amp.

It doesnt matter if it was only half way up. Did you even bother setting your gains with a dmm. Some of my amps are turned up less than half way to acheive full power from them. You were cliping it for sure.

it was maybe two and a half years old when i first got it it was great i started acting up when i got some hx2s

it was mounted on the top of my box and my car is a eclipse so it is a hatch and all the air would shoot straight at the amp so as far as ventalation it was in a perfect spot is this amp 1ohm stable what kind of subs do you have hooked up to this amp

well then i need to know what amp i should get that will run 1ohm stable i was looking at the rf power series t1000 or the orion 1200 i think it was one of those what would be the best for me and would those run at 1ohm
