MTX 8512 or the Type R

The two subs I'm looking at is the MTX 8512 and the Alpine Type R. I'm looking for a sub that will get loud and still have good SQ, it doesn't have to sound amazing at very loud volumes, just decent, I'm looking for SPL mostly. Which of these subs you guys think would be the better buy?

well my 7500 got loud in my truck. it hit 136, and it sound pretty good. from what ive hurd the 8500 does better in the SQ department. the alpines are the safe bet here. i love mtx and not to fund of alpine. but im undecided

I agree as well with the Type- R as my choice. I run two of these in my car and run the MTX(4500) in the pre-fab boxes for underseat. There are the entry level mtx but still not even comparable. The alpine will take much more power confortably and will be better for SQ. Good luck with your choice!
