MTX 81000D question

I have a mtx 81000d and i got it from a guy off sounddomain.com forum and i was told that it was modded to run at 1 ohm. i only ran it @ 1 ohm for 1 day becuz i ended up switching subs so my question is how can u tell if the amp is 1 ohm stable i actually want to run it @ 0.5 ohm but i dont want to do it if it will mess up. what is the name of that part that u take out so that it can run @ 0.5 ohm? thanks

how do i know its 1 ohme stable? what do i look for? when i ran it @ 1 ohm it was only for about an hour tops but it didnt get hot or anything then afterwards i switched subs and ran the amp at 2ohm for about 2 or 3 months
