MTX 7500 vs. Alpine Type-R

My friend is looking to get two 12s for his first set up. What would you guys reccomend, he is looking to spend around $250 shipped for the pair. He has been looking at the 7500s and the Type Rs, but still isnt sure. He will be using a ported enclosure, tuned ~35Hz.

What do you guys think... He is leaning more torwards the MTXs because his friend has them and he says they pound. He hasnt had any experience with the Type Rs, so here I am....

both are nice subs, but id take the 7500's personally..

I have the MXS series. (Practically the 7500). I'd go 7500, mine hits nice for 1 12" in a sealed box.

You show your ignorance again. I know you haven't even heard a 7500.

Easily the MTX 7500, hands down. I'd compare it to an RE SE and the SE > Type R meaning 7500 > Type R.

You can't really lose though, both are great.

i have heard the older type r's and the 7500s and i did prefer the 7500's...

he should just save up and get one 9500 i love mine
