MTX 22" subwoofer

parthenon.
mtx jackhammer is retarded //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
The jackhammer is still not a sub to be messed with. Im sure it could put up some serious numbers. As stated before it shook the whole building, and it wasnt even in a box. with a 10 hertz sine wave.

Ive heard the bahn sounds like crap, which is expected with an 34 inch sub.
size is not an indicative of performance...

the jackhammer is not even close to being practical for car audio. there are very few(if any) installs that the sub would fit in. not just because of the diameter, but the depth and weight. its more of a marketing ploy/flash than it is an actual product. but hey if they sell some of them, more power to them.

Ive already stated that both of them are for marketing purposes. And I have to disagree with you when you say size has is not an indicative of performance, because it is when your dealing with a sub nearly 3 feet in diameter. You cant get something that big to sound good. And if your going to tell me that you can get it to sound tighter, and just as good as a decent 10 , 12 ect.. then I dont know what to tell you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Well it is when the sub is 34 inches in diameter. If your going to tell me that you can get that 34 inch sub to sound as tight and crisp as a 10, then your crazy. We arent talking about an average size sub here. You cant get that sub to sound good.
what makes more of a difference in performance, size, or suspension/motor? basic speaker design will tell you that size does not matter. size does not tell you how a woofer will sound, not at all.

and if you wanna tell me you cant get good sound out of a large diameter woofer, go find a hartley 24" woofer and listen to it... the basics of woofer design tell you that size is not a factor, and that you can get efficiency out a small cone, and you can also get quality sound out of a large cone... its allin the motor, suspension, and moving mass.

Never said you cant get a large woofer to sound good, but we are talking about 34 inches here. If you think you can get an 3 foot audio bahn sub to sound good then go get one yourself, and have at it. I highly doubt anyone could get that thing to sound good though. Regardless of theorys you may have.

i never said anyone could get any audiobahn sub to sound good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif . we arent talking specific woofers here. just woofer design in general. being 34" inches does not matter, if you can get the suspension to handle it, a low enough MMS, and a motor with the right strength to move it, then you can get it to sound fine. but of course audiobahn isnt going to invest in the research for all of that, especially with a woofer that they arent going to produce //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lol, i never said the MTX was gnna sound good. just saying that large woofers have the potential to sound as good as smaller woofers.

like i said, the hartley 24" is a great example //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I wasnt talking about the mtx. I was talking about the 34 inch bahn, or just an 34 inch sub in general. Well this thread was pretty much killed about a page ago. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
