Ebay.com supplied the pictures I linked. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
why would you say that???

That's actually a quite old method of making a surround. The IDW's used this type of surround, for example, as have many many home audio subs over the years.
Hm, that's news to me... then again I haven't been subwoofer shopping for an eternity, so I've never cared much about the items out there besides when I'm shopping for them.

For those of you still curious about what we're talking about, here's some pictures.

Just a side question, and probably a stupid one but, you live you learn. As I was curiously looking over the surround, I also wanted to take notice of the glue hold behind the cone. So I ever so lightly pressed on the cone, just to see it move a milimeter or two and I heard a grinding noise. I established that it only happened when I used one hand to press on the side, versus pressing in the center or using both hands to lightly press on the side on opposite ends of the sub. Folks, don't think I was sitting there pushing the cone in thinking it was cool as sh*t. I just happened to notice it when looking over the glue. I assume this is because since the uneven force pressing down on the cone caused the inside of the woofer to shift as it protruded downward. Am I right? I just never noticed this before, just thought I'd ask.
