Another box build for my cheap af type s 12s. Rushed through this one. Only one coat of the pre stain I like to use. Still turned out ok I think. Yeah i had some dowel i wanted to use up. Probably try window bracing for the next box.

We'll see how it does probably Monday. Still have a little more poly to apply. Went for spl and efficiency on just a little over 700 watts. 6.3 @ 41 ish hz. It will be the 5th different enclosure I've built for this/these subs in.Purely for my entertainment purposes anyway

They have been fun to beat on and a learning experience but time to move on to some different subs.

Looks good, was it designed by @shredder2?
thanks! No not this one.  First big box, well anything over 3.5 anyway. Was going to use it in my f150 but picked up some different subs right after I started it. I haven't started installing any equipment in the f150 yet so I'll throw it in the work truck see and see how it does next week.

Couple more pics of how the stain turned out. Probably would've been a little  less blotchy had I done the recommend 2 applications.

Sedona red plus gun stock on the 2 end pieces. Hard to tell in pics 2 different stains were used but they're pretty close to the same color.

BIG box, looks nice too. Ought to really be efficient and loud for what it is I bet, if the opportunity presents itself you ought to meter it just to see where it is.

Yeah it might be a little big for those subs lol but the way it models at that tune excursion and group delay didn't look bad to me anyway. Looking forward to seeing how it does in the real world. Been wanting to try a big box. Damn near didn't have enough clamps but used Brad nails too for insurance

Not sure what'll I'll end up doing with it but if anything it was good practice for future builds.

Meets my goals and expectations. Very efficient significant increase in pressure level compared to other set ups I've had in this truck. Onto the next project.

Sure hope I don't get stuck out on the road for an overnight while they're in here. Rarely happens but would be a pita.

Very nice work! I really like the performance of those Type-S subs especially at their price-point.
Thanks! I just got into building enclosures for myself around this time last year,no prior experience with working with wood. It's been a learning process and investment but I enjoy the whole process of building enclosures  and trying different things.

At 70 $ a sub I think they're great subs. I prefer the sound of the s15s I have over the 12s but at that price I can't complain.

Time to try something else.20190202_175746.jpg

Crap!! So close  👣💪😠🖑🖐20190202_191202.jpg

Now it fits. Gonna try it on ht system then put it in the truck and see how I like it in this box.

Sealed a port off to get the tune down to a reasonable tune for ht. They're no mtx terminators 😭 but still might have wall shaking bass. 1st time I'll have the amplifier down to a 4ohm load too. Could be a little boomy in this box lol. Probably won't keep them on there too long.

I've got the nvx in a small ported box i actually built it for a s3 jbl. Ports a little small for the nvx then I'd like but for watching tv it  does pretty good not near the out put of the s15 and sa 15 of course but sounds good. A friend gave me the nvx. I was a little surprised by how well it's built. Maybe one day I'll build a box with ht in mind. Would love to try a 18 build for ht.20190202_205239.jpg

Got the sa 15 in the truck. It's tuned a little lower then I would've tuned had I built a box for 1 Thought about cutting the ports down some but would've involved cutting some bracing too but at least it'll give me a chance to try the sa out before I build something for them..

nothing sexy about this sub. Thinking about hiding it in a 6th order. 20190102_203345.jpg20190210_145328.jpg

other than a box mod to try out the ultimax 8s took a bit of a break. Plain on getting some wood this weekend. Would like to see if I can get these 8s in the Honda plus start on a 6th order

Been working on the basement/wood shop. Built some tables to make rip cuts a little easier.20190316_144130.jpg

It's a start for a massive fail or success. Trying to wedge 2 ultimax 8s in my honda ridgeline. Only 8.5 inches of height to work with front fire side port. Picked up this 5/8ths marine grade plywood. Gonna double baffle and probably router a tiny fraction of it to get the subs to slide into place. That's the idea anyway we'll see.

Turning into a slow process. Keep getting side tracked with other projects.

put a couple more coats on this weekend going to try and sell this one..20190324_170628.jpg20190324_155032.jpg

Threw this together just to try the dayton 2.1 mini amp. Wanted to see if it was worth making a little shop boom box out of or send It back. It did surprisingly pretty damn good considering it really doesn't put out a lot of power. Gets pretty loud for what it is.

Got the dayton classic 8 open box for 23$. Does good on the little amp. Box is tuned at 32 hz well a little lower now. Had a 10 in it. Plan on a little smaller box tuned around 44hz.

The eminence alpha 4 I got the pair for 18$ open box. One was bent but got it straightened out.

I bought a pair of the dayton dc25t tweeters I'm going to use as well. Could easily get by without but why not. Probably start on a portable set up next weekend.

The little amp is great for anyone wanting a cheap little garage set up imo...
