I find this thing hilarious for some reason. Decided to use the 4 4s for the low end modeling  the alphas extend up a little better to match better with the tweeters crossover point.

Might be doing a skar enclosure for someone else. Working out the details. Certainly not something I'd buy but could be interesting

Check out the bracing and all the stuffing  in this old Yamaha enclosure. Found something to do the plate amp. Rest of it is going in the local landfill.

I just can't get these things put together in a day but managed to get a decent start over the weekend. Going to stain so it'll take even longer single 6" port mid 30s. Plan to sell and  get something that will do good tuned low for the house. 20190427_164210.jpg20190428_092605.jpg20190430_075930.jpg20190430_075818.jpg

not car audio related although I'm using car audio subs. Took the crown out of the bedroom using it with dayton. The dayton doesn't mind the split signal but the crown needs a hotter signal. Even with the sub out cranked up on the receiver I can't level match the crown, dayton is fine gains pretty low. Art clean box pro will be on order soon. Adding the crown and another sub did take it to another level lol. Eventually will change the subs

Looks great, what kind of stain is that?
Mahogany it's a gel stain, minwax, did really well on not getting all blotchy. I also used Charles o Neil blotch control. You're supposed to put 2 coats on. Put 1 on wait an hour then another coat wait 24. I just did the 1 hour coat. Kept the glue off of it best I could. I think the gel did most of the work. I've used that blotch control with oil stains b 4 and it does do better than typical pre stain as far as letting the color soak in but this gel turned out a bit more even than the oil based.

Next time I'll do the 2 coats of pre stain and see if it's worth the waiting. It's still has a few darker spots here and there but probably the best one I've done as far as the finish.

Gel stains don't soak into the wood pores like a traditional stain, they are meant for non porous substrates like fiberglass and steel although you can still use them on wood. The fact that it's oil based allowed it to level as it dried so you don't have brush or roller marks left behind. I'm sure the blotch control helped to some degree but I have a feeling it wasn't necessary because of the properties of gel stains.

This isn't going anywhere at least anytime soon. Wanted to sell and get possibly an 18 for the house but this turned out better than anticipated. 3.84 35hz much better than the 3.5 30hz box i had the other sa in. Not too surprising but still better than anticipated. Keeping it in the truck 18 can wait lol.

Corona vacation build. I designed this for Dayton HO’s before work stopped. If I make it that’ll be the plan when work picks up. Put the jbl’s in the holes to see how it looks with subs.

12 x 1.5 peak is 20.7 m/s @20.27 hz 1000 watt amp. it’ll never get that low. 30 hz tune. Definitely could of got more output with more port area and a higher tune but that wasn’t the goal with it.
It’ll probably end up in my camper for tv/tunes. It’ll fit behind the couch. Need to build some mids and highs put in a hu, 4 ch amp, and probably use a crown amp on the subs but other then that it’ll be all 12 volt. I’ve got everything I need.

We’re supposedly looking for essential work but there’s a lot of competition. It’s a good time to make money if the works there. My wife got a 2$ raise when this hit. Essential
