I also used Charles o Neil blotch control.You're supposed to put 2 coats on. Put 1 on wait an hour then another coat wait 24. I just did the 1 hour coat. Kept the glue off of it best I could. I think the gel did most of the work. I've used that blotch control with oil stains b 4 and it does do better than typical pre stain as far as letting the color soak in but this gel turned out a bit more even than the oil based.Next time I'll do the 2 coats of pre stain and see if it's worth the waiting. It's still has a few darker spots here and there but probably the best one I've done as far as the finish.</blockquote>
