i use some coated screws, but with reg philips heads. use them to mount my amp too. shorted than these tho...

yeah i normally use drywall screws. i used #12 1 1/4" wood screw this time., tad bigger (not as long) since had to take sub outta box few times.. if u have double baffle box (i assume u pre drill small hole 1st anyway) u can use 2" screws. just don't go to skinny on the size..

I like these deck screws with the torx drive myself. Drywall screws are OK for smaller subs but much more prone to breaking and IMO the torx is a bit less likely to slip or strip.
